CASE STUDY
Auckland CBD · Commercial Office
Milford Asset Finance occupies a premium floor in Auckland's CBD with sweeping city views and a contemporary fitout defined by warm timber, concrete, and perforated metal. We were engaged to weave living greenery throughout the workspace, not as decoration but as an integral layer of the interior architecture. Custom curved timber planters follow the organic geometry of the office layout, creating natural dividers between collaborative zones, quiet corners, and circulation routes. Every plant was selected to thrive in the specific light and airflow conditions of each zone, so the greenery looks as good on day one thousand as it does on day one.
The centrepiece of the Milford fitout is a series of custom-crafted timber planters that mirror the curved geometry of the office furniture. Designed in collaboration with the interior architects, these planters integrate seamlessly with the built environment, wrapping around seating pods, lining corridors, and framing views to the city. Each planter houses a carefully composed arrangement of tropical species: Kentia palms for height, philodendrons for volume, and ferns for texture.

Milford's breakout areas feature signature blue seating pods nestled among tall palms and layered foliage. These informal zones give staff a place to step away from desks and reset, surrounded by living greenery that softens acoustics, improves air quality, and creates a sense of calm. The planting intentionally blurs the boundary between furniture and landscape, making the greenery feel like part of the architecture rather than an afterthought.
